You don't need a boat licence to hire most of our boats including our deluxe BBQ Pontoon Party Boat and you can hire for a half or full day. All boat hires are based on an average weight of 1 person = < 75kg (including children).
RMDL Boat Licence is required for our more powerful 15hp, 30hp and 50hp fishing / cruising boats.
To make your booking with us you will need and bring with you on the day:
and if you are hiring our 15hp, 30hp and 50hp boats the skipper will require:
At the time of booking, we simply require a small deposit to secure your boat:
On the day of your hire, the driver and hirer of the boat needs to fill out the recreational hire contract and agree to the terms & conditions of the hire.
Please bring a sharp knife with you to take on the boat. This may be required to cut the anchor rope in the case of it getting stuck.
What do i need to bring for the BBQ boat?
- any utensils for cooking your food (plastic is recommended)
- we recommend aluminium foil or similar to cook your food on as we cannot guarantee cross-contamination from a previous hire
- something to clean the BBQ after your hire
- garbage bag to take your rubbish with you after the hire.
On the day of your hire, come to the Bribie Beach Shack at your booked time. After a safety and local fishing brief, the boat will be launched for you from one of the many boat ramps.
At the end of your hire period, simply return the boat to the beach area near the boat ramp at the Bribie Beach Shack where we will take care of it from there.
Unfortunately, we have no wheelchair access for our boats as all of our boats are launched for you at the boat ramp or from the beach where on-water instruction is given.
Our garden has wheelchair accessibility.
Crab pots and cast nets can only be used with prior arrangement with the Bribie Beach Shack.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) does not recommend for infants under 12 months of age to travel on any boats; we are therefore unable to accommodate infants under 12 months of age on any of our self-drive hire boats .
All children 12 years of age and under must wear the lifejacket provided by us.
Due to the fast flowing nature of the Pumicestone Passage tidal conditions and as per manufacturer's recommendations, swimming in lifejackets and jumping off the vessels is not permitted under the vessel hire conditions due to insurance purposes.
The hirer for our self-drive boats or watercrafts must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
On our watercrafts, the minimum age for children on a double kayak is 8 years and with responsible adult supervision. Children between 12-18 years of age can hire single kayaks or SUP with responsible adult supervision.
Sorry, no pets are allowed on any of our boats or watercraft as we are in a Marine Park.
All our hire boats have shade canopies and appropriate safety equipment including life jackets, fire extinguisher, 'V' Sheet and more.
Our 15HP, 30HP and 50HP boats have the full range of necessary safety equipment for their extended range of travel.
We provide maps and guidelines suitable for each option of boat hire according to the hire range and engine capacity. Please also visit our TACKLEBOX page with direct links to live weather, wind and tides as well as recreational fishing guides and maps.
