Nestled between Brisbane and the Sunshine coast, the award winning Bribie Beach Shack adjacent to Bribie Island is set on 2 kilometers of white sandy beach in a purpose built facility. Operating 17 vessels, Bribie Beach Shack has BBQ boats and Fishing boats that do not require a boat license as well as a selection of higher powered boats that do require a boat license for hire charter rental. The Beach Shack boat operational area in the Pumicestone Passage between the mainland at Sandstone Point and Bribie Island offers the largest range of any operator with a 30 kilometer round trip for unlicensed vessels and over 50 kilometers for those with a boat licence. The area is classified as a Marine Park, so aside from great fishing, you may see dolphins, turtles and dugongs. We also have specific hire boats suitable for crabbing, for fishing, for cruising, and for larger groups our BBQ boat hire.
Our team at the Bribie Beach Shack will do all the hard work for you - launch and retrieve your hire boat from the white sand just in front of our location in Sandstone Point, Bribie Island.
All safety equipment is provided including lifejackets for children older than 12 months.
We are located in a Marine Park, so are unable to allow pets on our boats.
As we have to arrange staff for your vessel, booking deposits for the boats are non-refundable for change of mind within 48 hours of departure time. With prior notice and arrangement, we can easily move your booking to another day if you cannot make it. We will only cancel boat hires if the wind makes the boat hire too unsafe. With a fleet of 10 Single Kayaks and 2 double kayaks, we also offer Kayak hire direct from our premises with the added protection of a high speed safety boat if required for groups

FISHING MAPS & GUIDES
Maps are supplied in all boats to give you the best chance of catching fish in the Pumicestone Passage, Bribie Island. This map shows the hire area for our non-licensed hire boats. Bigger boats have a larger hire area which extends to Mission Point to the North and Red Beach to the South, weather permitting.
IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE YOU BOOK
Bribie Island hire boats
You don't need a boat licence to hire most of our boats including our large BBQ Pontoon Boat and you can hire for a half or full day. All boat hires are based on an average weight of 1 person = < 75kg (including children).
RMDL Boat Licence is required for our more powerful 15hp, 30hp and 50hp fishing and cruising boats.
Boats can be hired for half days or full days. Half day hires are either in a morning session (pick-up anytime from 7am (7:15am for the BBQ Boat) and return by 11:30am) or an afternoon session (pick-up anytime from 11:45am and return by 4pm).
Bookings Essential.
The hire area is within the Pumicestone Passage, Sandstone Point and Bribie Island.
what you need WHEN YOU make YOUR booking
To make your booking with us you will need:
- a current car driver's licence
- credit card, or a debit card or cash bond (which is fully refundable when the boat comes back safely)
and if you are hiring our 15hp, 30hp and 50hp boats the skipper will require:
- a current RMDL Boat Licence.
At the time of booking, we simply require a small deposit to secure your boat: The remainder of the hire fee is due on pick-up of the boat.
- $50 for the fishing boats
- $100 for the BBQ Pontoon Boat.
WE HELP YOU LAUNCH AND RETURN YOUR BOAT
On the day of your hire, simply come to the Bribie Beach Shack at your booked time. After a safety and local fishing brief, the boat / watercraft will be launched for you from one of the many boat ramps.
At the end of your hire period, simply return the boat to the beach area near the boat ramp at the Bribie Beach Shack where we will take care of it from there.
CRAB POTS & CAST NETS
Crab pots and cast nets can only be used on our crabbing boats which have a casting deck.
AGE LIMITS & SAFETY GUIDELINES
As per Marine Safety regulations, children under 12 months (1 year old) are not recommended to travel on any of our boats or watercraft.
All children under 12 years of age must wear the lifejacket provided.
The skipper of each boat hire must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Sorry, no pets are allowed on any of our boats or watercraft.
